Learn how to Cook a Great Dish

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

When I was at university I wasn’t exactly the best cook. In fact I didn’t even really try that hard and mostly lived on a diet of toast. I’m one of these people who doesn’t want to wait forever for my meal to be ready, which always put me off learning to cook. That was until I was bought Jamie Oliver’s Cook book as a present. It’s got some great meal ideas in it, and after trying one recipe I realised that it actually wasn’t that difficult.

Although I’m still not the best chef, I do now enjoy cooking and found that it’s great to be able to cook for friends when they come over for dinner. If you want to learn a new skill, I would definitely recommend cooking, and if I can do it, then anyone can.

If You’ve Got A Talent, Show it Off

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

If you’re like me you will have been watching the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent. There’s always a great variety of acts from the brilliant to the very strange. What always amazes me is that people have the confidence to be able to get up on stage and perform in front of famous judges as well as a theatre packed full of people.

The show has changed the life of many people, most famously, Susan Boyle, so if you’ve think you’ve got a talent, why not go for it and show people what you can do. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, and who know, you might just be the next Susan Boyle story.

Try Something New

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

We can all get bogged down in the day to day routine of our lives, so why not mix things up a little and try something new.

Last weekend I did just that and went on a segway tour in the Lake District. It’s not something I have ever done before, but after seeing a documentary on TV about it I decided to that it looked like lots of fun. I went with a group family and friends and after only 5 minutes of trying to work out how to use the segways we had huge smiles on our faces. It was great fun and something that I would definitely do again. So if you’re feeling that things are getting a little boring, try something new, even if it means coming out of your comfort zone.

Spring Running Challenge

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

During the winter months it can be hard to get motivated, but now that spring is upon us it’s the perfect time to get outdoors. The nights are lighter and there’s no excuse not to go for a walk or jog after or before work. While you’re at it, why not sign yourself up for a challenge.

This time last year I signed myself up for a 10k charity running event. I had never done one before, so it was a little daunting, but gave me the push I needed to make sure I got out and trained. Whether you take part in a walking or running event it’s a great challenge and doing it for charity really helps to spur you on. You get a real sense of achievement from taking part in these types of events and at the end of it, you get the added bonus of improved fitness.

Now that I’ve done one run, I’d really like to take part in another. Why not see what events are taking place in your local area and get signed up today.

Learning a new language

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Learning a new language can have many perks whether social or business however this can be a big challenge and so is something to be proud of the more language you can talk.

In common society we find our self’s surrounded by many people of different nationality and so chances are they speak multiple languages we make me think many be i should be able to speak a second language.

Of course in school we all did abit of German or French but this is the basic things such as counting 1 to 10 hello and bye so why not look into learning the whole language it may be of use.

Can Online Text Help Me Sell?

Monday, October 12th, 2009

With me getting tired of the furniture in my home I decided that it was time for a change and went out to buy new sofas and dining room furniture, after going to the Trafford centre I finally settled down on a sofa and decided to purchase but being the type of person that is easily sold to I ended buying new dining room table and chairs, and bedroom furniture.

After realising that when they would arrive in approximately fourteen days I have to get rid of my current furniture and as some of stuff was not that old I did not just want to take it to the tip.

After starting to look through my contacts in my mobile I thought I could take a while to text all my family and friends to see if they wanted anything and how much I was selling then for, I decided to look on the internet for some online text software which people had told me about which would enable me to send multiple text messages all in one go and let me type it easier on my pc rather than the incredibly small keys on my phone and let me save some money at the same time.

After sending out all the messages with the software in a matter of seconds all I have to do now was wait and hopefully sell some, if not looks like I will have plenty of sofas for when people come round.

Say hello to a new confidence you…try online dating!

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

My posts are mainly about being all that you can be in your job and progressing your career. To go far in life and feel happy your confidence plays a huge part in this.

Some people are extremely confidence and will happily argue there way through a board room meeting and a review for a pay rise, others will sit with there with there head down in silence and take whatever is thrown at them.

When i first started looking for jobs i was shy and lacked confidence and this showed in my interviews hence the reason the candidate who had more personality and confidence in the interview sailed the whole process.

In my eyes confidence =

Smart
Lets people know that you do not take nonsense
Makes you attractive
Is when you can take rejection and not take it to heart
Fun
Happy with yourself
Enjoy life

It sounds silly but i lacked every one of the above and my friends encouraged me to go speed dating and online dating. When i first heard of this i thought it was far to seedy and not my type of thing but after much persuasion from pushy friends i gave it a go and i can honestly put this down to why my confidence soured!  You don’t have to go on these sites if you are looking for a relationship you can use them for friendship and just to meet new people for lunch and a chat. My first date i was shy  but when i left the adrenaline rush i got gave me such a buzz and i instantly gained confidence overnight  come my second “date” i was a new women and from then i have never looked back to my shy, dull self. I now have an opinion and happy to walk into interviews with my head held high!

So if you are looking for a confidence boost seriously try dating and meeting new people it will seriously help!

Good Luck!!!
